First Visit
Let us share with you what a person might expect when attending Churubusco United Methodist Church (CUMC) for the first time.
CUMC is a come as you are fellowship -- learning about and experiencing the love of Jesus Christ. We have two Sunday morning worship services: 8:15 am and 10:30 am. The 8:15 worship is the more traditional service with traditional hymns and a chancel choir participating during the "school year." The 10:30 service is contemporary with praise songs led by the praise team and band. The message of the love of Jesus Christ as our Savior is the same at both services. Communion is celebrated the first Sunday of each month at an "open table." All are welcome to receive this gift of God's grace. Please dress however you feel comfortable. Most dress informally, and in the warm summer months, some wear shorts. As you enter the main parking lot, the entrance to the sanctuary is located at the first set of double doors you will see. Children of all ages are welcome in worship. Books and activity pages are available at the back of the sanctuary. Also if you prefer, the nursery for ages 3 and under is available from 8 am to noon. It is located down the hall from the sanctuary, past the lounge. During the 10:30 service following the offering, children 4 years old thru 5th grade are welcome to attend Junior Church, except on Communion Sundays when families are encouraged to share the Lord's Supper together. Greeters are available at the sanctuary doors to answer any questions you may have. Coffee, juice, and light snacks are available in the lounge between services - everyone is welcome. Sunday school classes are also available for all ages during the 9:30 hour. Anyone is welcome to attend. There will be someone available to help find your class/study group of interest.
